Casillas was not pleased to have received his marching orders against Espanyol...
Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas has made it clear that he shouldn't have been sent off against Espanyol in their Spanish Primera Division encounter on Sunday evening.
The Spain international was shown a red card for a foul on Jose Callejon outside the Blancos' penalty box in the second minute of the match, although replays showed that there was minimal contact.
Casillas believes that he shouldn't have been given his marching orders and hit out at the referee's decision.
"My red card was dubious, but the referee deemed it so and we had to accept it," he said on the club's official website.
“The important thing is the team played a phenomenal game and deserves a 10 out of 10. Our quality came through and we took three important points home with us.”
The 29-year-old also praised his replacement Antonio Adan and enthused, “Adan played a solid game. He has a bright future."
