Celtic and Rangers could not be separated in a 0-0 Old Firm stalemate and PSV Eindhoven went down to Feyenoord in the Eredivisie.

La Liga

Lionel Messi made it a remarkable 50th goal of the season as Barcelona ran out 2-0 winners against Osasuna, leaving them eight points clear with five games remaining this season.

Real Madrid are in good form though, and Los Blancos thrashed Valencia 6-3 at the Mestalla, going into the UEFA Champions League clash with Barca in good form.

Villarreal's hopes of a top-four finish suffered another blow as they lost to Sevilla, while Athletic Bilbao beat Real Sociedad 2-1 in the Basque derby.

Serie A

AC Milan extended their lead at the top of Serie A to eight points with four games remaining following a narrow 1-0 victory at Brescia - Robinho grabbing a late goal for the Rossoneri.

Inter Milan moved up to second as they beat Lazio 2-1, in a game where one player from each side was sent off.

Napoli slipped to third with defeat at Palermo, as Sampdoria earned a vital 1-0 victory at Bari to give them relegation hope.

Bundesliga

German leaders Borussia Dortmund are within touching distance of the title but slipped up 1-0 at Borussia Monchengladbach, meaning they are five points clear with three games left to play.

Second-placed Bayer Leverkusen kept the pressure on with a 2-1 success at home to Hoffenheim, despite going behind.

Elsewhere, Wolfsburg boosted their survival chances by thrashing Cologne 4-1 and Bayern Munich were held 1-1 at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Ligue 1

In France, Lille did not take full advantage of Marseille not playing until Wednesday as they could only manage a 1-1 draw at Lorient.

L'OM were not in league action but secured the French League Cup with a narrow 1-0 victory over Montpellier.

Lens are six points off safety after a stalemate at Auxerre, Rennes fell to Monaco and PSG were held by Brest.

Eredivisie

FC Twente are on top of the Eredivisie as on Friday night they earned a 2-1 win at ADO Den Haag.

The result was made all the more significant as title rivals PSV Eindhoven fell 3-1 at Feyenoord, leaving them three points behind Twente.

Ajax are up to second after thrashing Excelsior 4-1 on Sunday, Lorenzo Ebecilio bagging a brace.

SPL

In Scotland, the Old Firm locked horns for the last time this season and while Celtic missed a penalty, Rangers held on to a 0-0 draw at Ibrox.

Hearts and Motherwell played out a thrilling 3-3 draw and although Dundee United beat Kilmarnock 2-1, the Edinburgh outfit remain in pole position for third this term.

In Turkey, Fenerbahce beat Bucaspor 5-3 in an entertaining encounter as Galatasaray were held by Kayserispor.

Finally, Young Boys of Berne went down to Swiss rivals Basle 2-1 in a close encounter
